Utah high school athletes continue to excel on the gridiron, soccer fields, tennis courts and baseball diamond. In recognition of great performances in all of these fall sports, Coaches Aid.com compiles a weekly list of Utah’s top high school athletes. We like to call it “the hot list”. Here’s a look at this week’s cream of the crop.
1A Baseball
Dalan Bennett, Panguitch: The freshman slugger had three hits and four RBI’s in Saturday’s 1A championship game. Bennett’s great work at the plate helped Panguitch to a 13-3 victory over Piute. The Bobcats have now won three state titles in the last seven years.
Brooks Leach, Panguitch: The Bobcats pitching ace also had an outstanding championship game. Not only did Leach come up big on the mound, but he also hit a triple and drove in a pair of runs.
Football
Boston Handley, Alta: Alta’s reserve quarterback continues to get the job done in place of injured starter Jordan Brown. Handley threw for 258 yards and four touchdowns as Alta beat American Fork 37-21 to stay alive in the Region 4 title chase.

Raul Delgado, Springville: A multi-sport athlete. Delgado returned a kick off 95-yards for a touchdown, keeping the Red Devils close against Spanish Fork. But with the game on the line, Delgado made a clutch interception, which led to Red Devils go-ahead touchdown. The Springville basketball star also made a touchdown grab on the ensuing drive, but it was called back due to a penalty.

Bradley Holmes, Rich: The Senior quarterback put together another impressive night for the unbeaten Rebels. Holmes rushed for 279 yards and scored three touchdowns against second ranked Duchesne. The top-ranked Rebels improved to 7-0 on the season and look to be headed for an undefeated season.

Dylan Chynoweth, Park City: The state’s top rusher continues to produce incredible numbers for the Miner’s offensive machine. Chynoweth scored four touchdowns on his first four carries of the game at American Leadership Academy.
