The No. 1 team in Division I lost. The No. 2 squad in the big school division fell. Oh, and another top seed went down.
Just another Saturday night on the gridiron.
Here’s a look at what went down in the regional finals:
Division I
Region 1
Carey Spear kicked a 61-yard field goal, but Solon booter Kevin Hicks stole the show as the second-seeded Comets stopped Mayfield 13-10 in overtime.
Having missed a 41-yard field goal for Solon (11-0) in the first quarter, Hicks kicked a 37-yard field goal in overtime to win. Spear had a chance to tie it, but his effort from 35 yards out went wide left.
Other score:
Glenville 30, St. Ignatius 13
Region 2
With the score tied and 28 seconds left, Jeremy Greir kicked a 40-yard field to lift third-seeded Massillon over second-seeded Twinsburg 10-7.
The win gives Massillon (9-3) a chance to play in the regional final for the first time since 2005 and an opportunity to exact some revenge against a Canton McKinley team that humiliated it in Week 10.
Other score:
Canton McKinley 48, Canton GlenOak 7
Region 3
Top-seeded Dublin Coffman overcame a three-point fourth-quarter deficit to stop No. 4 seed Westerville South 21-19.

Region 4
They’re back.
The fourth-seeded Elder Panthers stopped No. 1 St. Xavier 19-14 to lay claim as the best team in the Queen City in front of 20,105 fans.
Barely.
Up 17-0 entering the fourth quarter, Elder (9-2) watched St. Xavier (9-3) score twice in a six-minute span, but held on when Mark Miller found Alex Welch for a first down with 42 seconds left.
Other score:
Anderson 41, Middletown 20
Division IV
Region 13
Anthony Kelly willed sixth-seeded Woodridge to a 34-20 win over second-seeded Girard.
Kelly orchestrated a 62-yard scoring drive from the backfield, popping off runs of 27, 10 and 10 to give the Bulldogs (10-2) the cushion they needed.
He finished with 156 yards on 35 carries and added two touchdowns.
Other score:
Chagrin Falls 36, Lakeview 14
Region 14
Third-seeded Orrville needed just about every second, but the Red Riders did it, knocking off second-seeded Genoa Area 36-35.
Up one, Orrville (8-3) saw Genoa Area drive into Red Rider territory, but picked up a sack on fourth-and-19 with 46 seconds left to win.
Other score:

Other score:
Ironton 20, Heath 14, OT
Region 16
Sometimes defending state champions play that way.
Second-seeded Archbishop Alter sopped sixth-seeded Carlisle 41-0.
And it was that easy for the Knights (12-0), who picked up 300 yards on the ground on 43 carries.
Zane Pitzer and Cody Taulbee scored two touchdowns for Alter to lead the way.
Other score:
Clinton-Massie 30, Kenton 22

Region 22
In one of the most anticipated D-VI matchups, second-seeded Ada stopped third-seeded Carey 14-7.
Ada (12-0) did it with defense holding Carey (10-1) scoreless save for an 80-yard lateral in the fourth quarter.
