Second round playoff upsets

Yes, most of the favorites advanced through second round play in the Illinois state high school football payoffs. But that doesn’t mean they all did.
In Class 7A, No. 5 O’Fallon knocked off No. 1 Lincoln-Way East, 17-16; and No. 11 Lake Zurich beat No. 3 Crystal Lake South 30-28 (after upsetting No. 6 Rolling Meadows last week),
In Class 6A, No. 10 Prairie Ridge upset No. 2 Marmion Academy 31-7.
In Class 5A, No. 12 Montini doubled up No. 4 Woodstock Marian 42-21.
In a Class 4A matchup between teams that pulled off upsets last week, No. 11 Johnsburg outdueled No. 14 Herscher 10-7. This is a class that has already lost a No. 1 (Illinois Valley Central), No. 3 (Chicago Dyett) and a No. 4 (Chicago Raby).
In Class 3A, No. 15 Nashville advanced to the quarterfinals with a 47-41 victory over No. 7 Auburn. Last week, Nashville beat No. 2 Sesser-Valier 21-19.
In Class 1A, No. 8 Tuscola clipped previously unbeaten and No. 1 seed Brown County 21-18; No. 12 Astoria beat No. 13 Greenfield 16-6 after beating No. 5 Pawnee 24-14 last week; and unbeaten Dakota lost to Lena-Winslow 20-7.
