There are good games, great games and games of unusual interest this week in Illinois.
Hinsdale Central (2-0)at Glenbard West (2-0) Friday
The visiting Red Devils are ranked fourth in Class 8A while the host Hilltoppers are ranked second in Class 7A.
Naperville North (2-0) at Glenbard North (2-0) Friday.
Two more unbeaten teams go at it in Carol Stream. The area is going to be hopping with great football on Friday.
Brother Rice (1-1) at St. Rita (2-0) Friday.
Our No. 1 team in Class 7A faces a rival in Brother Rice, which smoked Amundsen last week 49-9.
Marist (2-0) at Carmel (1-1) Friday.
Carmel is coming off an impressive double-up on Libertyville, 28-14, and can push Marist to its toughest game so far.
Romeoville (2-0) at Plainfield South (2-0) Friday.
Coachesaid has Romeoville No. 6 in Class 6A. See Plainfield South join Plainfield North in the rankings with a win.
St. Thomas More (2-0) at Watseka (2-0) Friday.
Marcel Maiden has scored nine touchdowns for Watseka in two games.
He has gained 330 yards in 22 carries, an average of 15 yards per carry.
Casey Westfield (2-0) vs. Flora (2-0) Friday.
Another game between unbeatens in Class 2A. Casey-Westfield is ranked fifth among a lot of unbeaten teams in that class.
Edwardsville (2-0) at Belleville (1-1) Friday.
Edwardsville has won its first two games by a total score of 98-6.
St. Charles North (2-0) at East Aurora (0-2) Friday.
North is 2-0 for the first time in the school's eight-year history.
Paris (0-2) at Effingham (2-0).
Effingham has not been scored on yet this season. It could be three in a row.
Havana (2-0) at Knoxville (2-0)
Unbeatens in 2A.
Richmond Burton (2-) at Stillman Valley (2-0)
We've got Richmond at No. 4 in 4A and Stillman at No. 3 in 3A. Bet that changes after this weekend.
